The Year of St. Joseph

This beautiful statue of Saint Joseph in the sanctuary was donated by a family who wishes to remain anonymous. We thank them and ask you to pray for them.

In commemoration of the 150th Anniversary of the Proclamation of Saint Joseph as Patron of the Universal Church, Pope Francis has proclaimed a Year of Grace dedicated to Saint Joseph to be celebrated by all Catholics throughout the world from December 8, 2020 until December 8, 2021.

All parishioners are therefore encouraged to spend time this year growing closer to Saint Joseph by getting to know him better, honoring him, imitating his virtues and asking for his intercession.

To celebrate this holy and grace-filled time, our parish will sponsor several events in honor of Saint Joseph. One of the first events will be a Solemn Mass celebrated on his feast day, March 19, 2021. Bishop Arthur J. Serratelli, the Bishop Emeritus of Paterson, will be the main celebrant and homilist.

Parishioners are cordially invited to join us, not only for the Mass on March 19, but for all special events to be celebrated during this holy year. Please regularly consult the parish website and church bulletin for the most up-to-date information on new activities, events and resources.

May this year be a time of great spiritual renewal for all of us as we more deeply entrust ourselves to the care of Saint Joseph, the Guardian of the Redeemer, the Protector of the Virgin Mary and the Patron of the Universal Church.

Saint Joseph, pray for us!

Lenten Regulations for Friday, March 19, 2021

03-15-2021  |

It’s March 2021, and that means it’s the month dedicated to St. Joseph in this current year dedicated to St. Joseph. And coming up on March 19, it’s the Solemnity of St. Joseph. What does all this mean, in short? It’s time for some feasting.

But wait, you might say. Feasting within Lent? This cannot be so. Yet while it’s true that Lent is typically reserved for fasting, penance and almsgiving, Catholics would be remiss if we didn’t take advantage of the opportunities to rejoice, even during this solemn season.
