Obligation to Attend Mass Reinstated

As we slowly begin to return to some sense of normalcy with regard to the COVID-19 pandemic I would like to make you aware of the following:

  • Effective on the weekend of June 5/6, all able Catholics are obliged to attend Mass on Sundays and Holy Days of Obligation. This is because the dispensation granted by the New Jersey Catholic Bishops during the pandemic is now being lifted.
  • Effective immediately, all those who have been fully vaccinated are no longer be required to wear masks while inside the church or any of our parish buildings. Please be aware that if you have not been vaccinated, as per the directives given by the state of New Jersey, you must continue to wear a mask.

  • Our Parish Office is open Monday - Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm. All visiting the office must wear a mask.
  • Seating is limited per safety guidelines. Seats will be available on a first come first serve basis. Certain Masses have been reaching permissible capacity. You are encouraged to arrive early.

Everything we know about the husband of Mary and the foster father of Jesus comes from Scripture and that has seemed too little for those who made up legends about him.

We know he was a carpenter, a working man, for the skeptical Nazarenes ask about Jesus, "Is this not the carpenter's son?" (Matthew 13:55). He wasn't rich for when he took Jesus to the Temple to be circumcised and Mary to be purified he offered the sacrifice of two turtledoves or a pair of pigeons, allowed only for those who could not afford a lamb (Luke 2:24).
